MRT 3 personnel have been talking about this as far back as when someone attempted suicide by jumping in front of a train some ten odd years ago.

Today it happened!

A woman lost her right hand when she fell into the coupler of a Metro Rail Transit 3 train at the Ayala station in Makati City November 14, Tuesday afternoon.

”Our public transport already leaves our commuters with no dignity. Now, the train system has become unsafe too for our poor riding public.” Unidentified MRT3 Commuter

Transportation Undersecretary Cesar Chavez confirmed that the accident happened at around 2:30 p.m.

According to the report Chavez received, MRT 3 station supervisor Raffy Robels, the victim fell into the platform where her right hand got caught in a train coupler.

It was not clear how the accident happened as it was not a busy day owing to the holiday declared for the ASEAN Summit

The woman, identified as a certain Angeline Fernando, 24 years old, was rushed to the Makati Medical Center for treatment.
