The 5th Season Vios Cup Is On!
The country’s most popular motor sport event kicks off this April, now bigger than ever with more than 50 drivers lining up on the grid. The fifth running of the Vios Cup now comes with a new three-leg race format and car specifications upgrade for the Super Sporting Class to further add excitement to this one-make race. The fifth season of the Toyota Vios Cup flags off on April 28 at the Clark International Speedway (CIS)in Pampanga.
Since 2014, the Vios Cup has been spreading WAKU-DOKI or the fun in driving through this one-make race with participants battling it out in three race classes: Super Sporting Class; Sporting Class; and Promotional Class.
The first and last legs will be held at the CIS, Pampanga, while the second leg will be held at Filinvest, Alabang, bringing the motorsports experience back to the streets of Metro Manila.
The one-make race remains committed in developing basic motorsports knowledge and racing skills in the country through this one-make race. This 5th season will see new celebrity racers such as actors’ Diego Loyzaga, Sofia Andres, Chie Filomeno, and Sam Milby go behind the wheel. Joining them are our returning celebrities from last season’s race — Sportscaster Gretchen Ho, fitness influencer Aubrey Miles, Japanese-Brazilian model Fabio Ide, and actor Troy Montero.
Upgraded Super Sporting Class
Upgrades can now be seen on the Super Sporting Specifications such as the lightweight hood and trunk lid to further maximize the speed performance of the Vios. Moreover, it is now equipped with TRD Rotor Disc Brakes providing higher braking power. This should thrill the racers as they drive the modified Vios providing an even more heart-stopping battle on the track, with lap times expected to drop to the 2’-22” range.
The first leg flags off on April 28. The event is open to the public, and admission is absolutely free!
