The Supreme Court has ordered key government officials respondent in the petitions for habeas corpus seeking the release of former President Rodrigo Duterte to comment in 24 hours on why the writ should not be issued.

The Supreme Court En banc also consolidate the petitions for habeas corpus separately filed by Duterte’s children Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte, Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, and Veronica “Kitty” Duterte.

Among those order to submit their respective comments were; Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, Interior Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla, PNP chief Police General Rommel Marbil, and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief Police Major Gen. Nicolas Toree III.
