Strong Quake Shakes Wao, Lanao Del Sur
Two strong earthquakes shook the province of Lanao De Sur this morning.
Based on data from Phivolcs, the first quake registered a 4.1 magnitude 3-kilometers Northeast of the town of Wao at about 12:36 in the afternoon, Thursday, August 22, 2019.
This was followed by a 3.9 magnitude earthquake, again 3-kilometers Northwest of Wao at about 12:42pm. The quake was registered at 1-kilometer deep.
The quake was felt as far as Kalilangan, Bukidnon registering intensity 2, while Cagayan de Oro felt an instrumental intensity 1.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin. No one was reported hurt or structures damaged and Phivolcs said they do not expect any aftershocks.
