Senate to decide as a collegial body on committee leaderships says Bong Go
Senator Christopher “Bong” Go said on Friday, May 20, that the next heads of the various Senate committees will be decided by the majority, and that the Upper House will make the decision as a collegial body.
Kung sino ‘yung mapipili, ‘yun po ang rerespetuhin po natin,” said Go in an interview after personally attending the groundbreaking ceremony of the four-story hospital building and monitoring visit of the Malasakit Center at the Valenzuela Medical Center.
“It’s a collegial body – kung sinong pipiliin ng majority. Same with the selection of committees,” he added.
Go stressed that he will respect the will of the majority, adding that he intends to continue working quietly yet diligently as a senator.
“Ako, rerespetuhin ko po kung sinong gusto ng majority… iisa lang po ako sa mga senador,” said Go.
The senator, however, remarked that he will not hesitate to speak up when the interest of the Filipino people is at stake.
“But rest assured, hindi ibig sabihin mananahimik na diyan.
When asked if he still wants to chair the Senate Health Committee, Go said he would be happy with whatever the majority gives him.
Basta ulitin ko, I will be working quietly as a senator. Trabaho lang po,” said Go.
After the event, Go proceeded to the inauguration of the Bahay ni Jawo Basketball Court in Barangay Parada, Valenzuela City.
