Motorists passing through borders of the National Capital Region, the first day of the implementation of enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila, had to patiently wait for their turn as police inspected their documents.

Those without documents proving they were authorized persons outside residence (APOR) were asked to turn back. Those caught violating health protocols were issued tickets.

At the Batasan-San Mateo checkpoint, traffic was heavy entering Quezon City as drivers were asked to present proof that they are APORs, report said.

Public utility vehicles (PUVs) such as buses and jeepneys found violating the 50% allowed passenger capacity were asked to unload excess passengers.

A separate lane was set up for motorcycles and bicycles, the report said.
