Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Wednesday belies claims of her father President Rodrigo Roa Duterte that Senator Imee Marcos wants to be her vice presidential running mate in 2022.

“Talks or meetings with Sen Imee for VP never happened,” Sara told a television networks (GMA7).

President Duterte claimed in his Talk to the People program, that Senator Imee Marcos visited her daughter Sara, hoping that latter will tap her as her running mate in 2022.

“Si Imee ganito ang laro niyan eh. pinuntahan niya si Mayor Duterte sa Davao hoping na magtakbo yun siya ang maging bise. Eh hindi naman tatakbo, sabi ni Mayor Sara Duterte hindi siya magtakbo,” Duterte said.

But, Duterte claim was completely opposition to Imee Marcos television interview, wherein she describes the Sara Duterte-Carpio –Bong Marcos tandem in 2022 will be “marriage in heaven.”

Senator Imee said the Duterte is the political force to recon with in the South, while the Marcos is considered the political family of the North.

“Everything’s possible but I suppose the most obvious thing is that if the Dutertes have the solid south, we’re assumed to have the solid north. Parang marriage made in heaven yan,” Imee said in an interview with Karen Davila..

“Political wisdom says if you look at the numbers, it looks good, looks like a really solid tandem,” she added.

Bongbong has confirmed that he will run in 2022 but has yet to decide on which post.
