The Henley Global Passport Index said Philippines has the 72nd most powerful passport globally, three spots higher from its 75th ranking in the same index earlier this year.

According to Henley Global Passport Index the ranking was based on the total number of destinations a holder can visit visa-free.

Each visa-free destination is equivalent to a score of 1, based on the report that uses data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

The Philippines ranked 73rd in 2024, 78th in 2023, 80th in 2022, 77th in 2021, and 74th in 2020.

Singapore still has the world’s most powerful passport, with its citizens able to visit 193 countries visa-free.

Japan and South Korea are in 2nd place, with their citizens each able to travel to 190 countries without a visa.

Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain all share the third spot with a score of 189.

In 4th place are Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden with a score of 188.
