Presidential Communications Office Acting Secretary Dave Gomez said it is preparing to file complaints against individuals spreading false information about the health of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Gomez said evidence is currently being gathered, adding that a complaint may be filed next week. His announcement came amid viral social media posts in recent days falsely claiming that the President has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

“Yung nagpapakalat on the health of PBBM, we’re already collecting all pieces of evidence and will initiate a complaint with the DOJ hopefully next week,” Gomez said.

Malacañang has maintained that the President is in good health amid circulating rumors about his condition.

Marcos was brought to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City last January 21 after experiencing discomfort, which doctors diagnosed as diverticulitis.

The President later acknowledged that he lost some weight but assured the public that he is recovering and doing well.

Recently, Gomez filed charges against a social media entity allegedly for spreading fake news on the oil and energy crisis situation of the country due to the US-Israel conflict with Iran.
