PAGASA raised red rainfall warning over southern Palawan

PAGASA hoisted a red warning over southern Palawan Friday morning, indicating heavy rain of up to 30 mm or more within an hour.

Orange warning, indicating rainfall of 15mm-30mm within an hour, is hoisted over southern central Palawan while the yellow warning, indicating rain of 7.5 mm to 15 mm, is hoisted over the following areas:

extreme southern Palawan

Albay

Sorsogon

southern Palawan

Agusan del Sur

portions of Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao Occidental, Sarangani, and Zamboanga Sibugay

Flooding and landslides continue to threaten these areas, according to the weather bureau.

In a 5 a.m. weather advisory, PAGASA said heavy to intense rain (100-200mm) will be felt this Friday in Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.

Moderate to Heavy (50-100 mm) rain will be felt in Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Masbate, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, Palawan, Aklan, Capiz, Samar, Biliran, and Leyte.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in the Visayas, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Zamboanga Peninsula, Quezon, and Davao Oriental.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of CALABARZON, and Aurora will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon.
