Over 100K beneficiaries get fuel subsidy from LTFRB
MANILA – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has remitted PHP703 million under the fuel subsidy program funded through the 2022 General Appropriations Act.
A total of 108,164 beneficiaries each received PHP6,500, according to a statement on Tuesday.
“Nagsimulang ipamahagi ang nasabing fuel subsidy noong Marso 15, 2022. Ayon sa mga operator/driver na nakatanggap ng kanilang fuel subsidy, malaking tulong ang programang ito dahil patuloy ang pagtaas ng presyo ng langis (The said fuel subsidy was distributed starting March 15. 2022. According to operators and drivers, the program is a big help because of the continued rise of fuel prices),” the statement read.
Beneficiaries were reminded that the cash they received may be used to purchase fuel only.
“Patuloy ang LTFRB sa pag-proseso ng fuel subsidy sa iba pang mga benepisaryo. Nakikipag-ugnayan ang ahensya sa Land Bank of the Philippines para mapabilis ang implementasyon ng buong programa (LTFRB continues to process the fuel subsidy in coordination with Land Bank of the Philippines to speed up the process of the entire program),” the LTFRB said.
Earlier, the LTFRB denied a petition by several transport groups for a PHP1 provisional fare hike for public utility jeepneys.
The decision was separate from the PHP14 to PHP15 minimum fare petition of transport groups. (PNA)
