No More Bulok Buses and Jeeps!!!
Beginning today, January 8, 2018, the Inter Agency Council on Traffic or I-ACT will begin apprehending old and decrepit jeepneys and buses pursuant to Malacanang’s program on modernizing pubic transportation in the country.
Oplan “Tanggal Bulok, Tanggal Usok” will be implemented in the streets of Metro Manila by all traffic enforcement agencies of the metropolis.
January 8 is the warning phase of the program where smoke belchers and old unsafe public utility vehicles or PUV’s will be apprehended and cited with a warning that their motor vehicles must comply with the corresponding laws on environmental compliance and vehicle safety compliance or face sanctions.
Elmer Argano of I-ACT said “today is a warning shot, if after a day we catch them again, then we shall already issue summons to them, leading to possible suspension if not cancellation of their licenses and franchises, if their explanations would be unsatisfactory.”
Is that not a nice New Years Gift for us commuters and motorists?
