New NCRPO chief to sustain gains of his predecessor
MANILA – Newly appointed National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad on Wednesday vowed to sustain the gains achieved by his predecessor Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr.
“Aside from that, we sustain the gains of the unit under the leadership of my predecessor, Maj. Gen. Vic. Danao. Itutuloy lang natin lahat ng inumpisahan niya gaya nang ginawa ko nung nagpalitan kami sa PRO 4A (We will just continue everything he started like I did when I took over the PRO 4A). I just simply continued all his programs at yan din ang gagawin ko dito ulit sa (we will also that in the) NCRPO,” Natividad said in his speech during the turnover ceremony.
Before his stint as director of the Special Action Force (SAF), Natividad was former Police Regional Director (PRO) of Region 4-A (Calabarzon) were he replaced Danao, who was named NCRPO under the retired PNP chief Debold Sinas.
“Kapag meron tayong nakitang (If we find) let’s say there will be flaws and loopholes, that’s the time we will improve. There will be no new programs. I just simply follow what started,” Natividad said.
He wanted also to instill discipline in members of the NCRPO.
“If we have a very disciplined police force, we will be able to give quality service in the community,” he said.
He also warned that cops will face administrative sanctions and possibly removal from the service if they will not perform their mandated duties.
Natividad said he will have a command conference with five NCRPO district directors and his command group for the preparation of upcoming elections.
“I know that they have already laid down their plans already so I will just check on that and, in a few days, or most probably before the weekends I will call a command conference,” he said.
The five police districts under NCRPO are the Manila Police District (MPD), Quezon City Police District (QCPD), Northern Police District (NPD), Southern Police District (SPD), and Eastern Police District (EPD).
Danao was promoted as head of the Directorial Staff, the Philippine National Police’s fourth highest position. (PNA)
