Negros Occidental LGU chiefs urge Inday Sara to run for president

Leaders of various Local Government Units (LGU) in Negros Occidental urge Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio to run for president in 2022 election.

Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, who recently met with city and municipal mayor to assess his political chances as senatorial candidate after President Rodrigo Duterte convince him, said the mayor told him that Mayor Sara Duterte to seek presidential post in 2022 are gaining grounds in Negros Occidental.

Panelo said he was joined by former Negros Occidental register of deeds Romulo Gonzaga, provincial chairman of “Run Sara Run”; Sara All convenor Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson; and Victorias City Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca, Toboso Mayor Richard Jaojoco, San Enrique Mayor Jilson Tubillara, Pontevedra Mayor Jose Maria Alonso, and Hinobaan Mayor Ernesto Estrao.

Silay City Mayor Mark Golez, Hinigaran Mayor Nadie Arceo and La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan also aired their support for Duterte-Carpio.

“We want Sara to run because we want continuity,” Panelo quoting the local officials.
