President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and members of the first family are open to a lifestyle check, a few days after a report tagged first son and House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos as the new “pork barrel king.” Malacanang said.

Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said when asked if Rep. Marcos and other members of the first family are “open to the possibility of a lifestyle check” to dispel suspicions of corruption.

Castro said the President has already read the report from the Philippine Center of Investigative Journalism (PCIJ), which noted that Rep. Marcos got a P15.8-billion allocation from the national budget from 2023 to 2025.

“As of now, I cannot speak for and behalf of Congressman Sandro Marcos at sabi naman po niya, siya po ang nagboluntaryo, kung anuman po ang issue sa kaniya, siya mismo ang pupunta sa ICI para maimbestigahan po siya, bigyan lamang po siya ng date para po magkaroon ng tamang schedule,” she said.

In August 2025, Marcos Jr. ordered lifestyle checks on all government officials amid the ongoing investigations into anomalous flood control projects, but until now the Palace has yet to say if these audits have been completed.
