Malacañang declared May 12, 2025 a nationwide holiday.

Proclamation No. 878 states that there is a need to declare Monday, May 12, as a special non-working holiday to enable the people to properly exercise their right to vote.

President Ferdinand ”Bongbong” Marcos Jr. signed the Proclamation today, May 6.

The holiday declaration came following a request made by the Commission on Elections, with the aim to allow Filipinos to vote this Eleksyon 2025.
