LTFRB Joins Probe On Mindoro Bus Crash
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will join the investigation of the bus crash that killed two people in Bgy. Nicolas in Magsaysay, Mindoro Occidental 6:30 last night, December 9 2017.
In a statement on Viber, LTFRB Board Member Atty. Aileen Lizada said “the LTFRB is now investigating the incident. They will issue a preventive suspension order while the ivestigation is ongoing.”
“Yung buhay na nawala, isa man o marami, mahalaga lagi sa amin iyon” – the statement said. (The lives that are lost, one or many, is always important to us)
The report said two people were confirmed dead after a bus ferrying student-athletes from the University of Rizal System fell into a ten-foot deep ravine in the area. They were on their way to attend the Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Colleges and Universities Olympics in San Jose, Mindoro Occidental.
Police have yet to determine the cause of the road crash.
Atty. Lizada said insurance company PAMI will attend to the victims. The bus is a tourist bus covered by the rules of LTFRB.
