Car Models Set To Hit The Roads

As the year winds down and most automotive companies have shown their wares for next year, we wanted to see which are the best cars for the coming 2018 and maybe direct you to the best automobile and make everyone aspire for the best there is.

So here are some of the really great cars we have seen online and everywhere else. Now, remember, this is a collection of cars that look great from around the world. Some will be available locally, others will probably be brought over and a few might not even hit our shores. But, they are some of the best looking ones for 2018, so let’s see what they are!

2018 Toyota Camry/Camry Hybrid – The Camry is still one of Toyota’s best-selling premium class car. It is not really known for its styling or excellent handling, but Toyota aims to improve that perception with the 2018 model. The coming variant will feature edgier designs both for its interior and exterior plus a host of safety tech and more powerful yet efficient engines.

It will be noticeable in the 2018 Camry’s posture – lower, longer, and wider. There will be greater visual distinctions between the luxury, sport, and hybrid models. It will be p-owered by an all-new 2.5-liter four-cylinder, with an updated V6 and hybrid powertrains available if we choose those.

They will also come with standard Toyota Safety Sense suite of advanced electronic safety aids and driver assistance technologies, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams.

2018 Honda Odyssey – Next year, Honda wants to overtake the competition by introducing the  2018 Honda Odyssey. This new model is packed with family-friendly technology and seating features, not really far from then old versions but with new tweaks to it.

A side to side sliding 2nd row seat makes it easy to access the 3rd row, install and load child seats, and make sure small passengers are placed in the safest part of the car. Instead of the wide-area mirror in the roof cartridge, an interior camera system has been installed to allow parents to keep an eye on kid passengers. It even has a CabinTalk feature that lets parents to talk to 2nd and 3rd row kids with the van’s audio system, even if they are using the headphones from the vehicle’s rear-seat entertainment system.

2018 Ford Expedition – This is a politicians favorite and should get much attention for the 2019 polls. The 2018 Ford Expedition will feature a body made of lightweight aluminum. This allows for greater weight savings compared to a steel body. Paired with an efficient new powertrain, this new model is expected to provide significantly improved fuel economy, something Ford sorely needs.

And since we have been seeing so much tech inside the Fords coming out of the factory, this one is no boozer. It will feature a whole slate of advanced safety tech, driver assistance features, and the latest SYNC 3 infotainment system that supports both the Apple CarPlayand Android Auto. A whopping 6-USB ports are scattered all over the cabin, and it even comes with an onboard Wi-Fi hot spot that pulls data through a dedicated 4G LTE data connection or maybe your own phone.

2018 Lexus LS – The Lexus LS is the flagship sedan model for the Japanese luxury brand. For 2018 it comes completely redesigned with a dynamic coupe-like silhouette so far from the old model. It is now longer, lower, and wider, gaining 33 millimeters in wheelbase.

It is powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 415 horsepower and linked to a 10-speed automatic transmission to send power to either the rear wheels or all four wheels. Four-wheel steering is an option. The LS is available with a system that will actively try to steer around a pedestrian in its lane.

2018 Audi Q5 – The redesigned Audi Q5 is said to be faster than the last generation and loaded with the latest in safety and infotainment technology. It features a four-cylinder turbo linked to a seven-speed automatic transmission, with standard all-wheel drive that can send it from 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds.

The latest Q5 is equipped with the latest Virtual Cockpit that replaces the traditional instrument panel and a 12.3-inch customizable video display. Audi’s MMI all-in touch interface allows control of the infotainment system using handwriting recognition technology in addition to voice or menu scroll wheel inputs.

2018 Chevrolet Traverse – The 2018 Chevrolet Traverse can seat up to eight passengers, and access to the spacious third-row will be enhanced by a second row that both tilts and slides, even with a child seat installed. All three rows will have USB charging ports.

There will be two new trims levels, including a sporty RS with new exterior details, a set of 20-inch wheels, and a black chrome grille. The range-topping high country will feature an upgraded leather interior with suede accents, standard all-wheel drive, and power-folding rear seats.

2018 Subaru Crosstrek – Subaru introduced the redesigned 2018 Crosstrek at the last Geneva Auto Sow. It is the first significant update since it launched in 2012, but it still has its rugged design and high ground clearance.

It is expected to have the latest set of Subaru’s EyeSight driver assistance and advanced safety systems.

2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar – With the acquisition of the Jaguar/Land Rover distribution franchise by C0ventry Motors (an ANG afficliate) we can expect to see more Land Rover Models locally. And it is sure to bring in the latest Rover child, the 2018 Range Rover Velar.

Three powertrains are available for this new model , including a four-cylinder diesel and a 380-horsepower supercharged V6. Of course all-wheel drive is standard, and air suspension is available to enhance the SUV’s off-road prowess. The Velar also debuts a new Land Rover InControl infotainment system with a pair of 10-inch touch screens.

2018 Ford Mustang – Of course the Ford Mustang will be here. It is one of the best selling cars of Ford in then Philippines if only  they could fix their after-sales issues. The 2018 Ford Mustang has gone high-tech in looks and features. It now packs a four-cylinder 2.3 liter turbocharged engine replacing the V6 base engine. The venerable 5.0-liter V8 has been updated, and a quick-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission can be paired to either engine.

The Mustang’s retro-inspired gauges can now be replaced by a 12-inch customizable flat-panel display. And even the exhaust note on the V8-powered Mustang GT can be tuned with an available active-valve exhaust system.

2018 Lexus LC – This is an all new Lexus model. The 2018 Lexus LC is a high performance luxury sports coupe that is derived from the LF-LC concept car.

The new LC has a 2+2 seating arrangement, or a nice tow front seat but not much space at the rear for human beings. It does have either a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid powertrain or a 471-horsepower V8 under the hood. Your choice.

2018 Ford EcoSport – This is another of Ford’s best seller. It is in fact the Ford best seller. In the US, the 2018 Ford EcoSport will be available with a choice of two engines, including a super-efficient 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder. Let us see if we get the same.

The EcoSport was introduced first on Snapchat, probably the first and only car launch done on social media. If this is any indication of its target market, then we know Ford is looking at the young ones. It will feature Ford’s intuitive SYNC 3 infotainment system with support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

2018 Volvo XC60 – The 2018 Volvo XC60 is the first major redesign of the model since it was introduced nine years ago. Because it is Volvo, it will be one of the safest cars ever built, and that is what the press material says too. Groundbreaking technology such as Oncoming Lane Mitigation to prevent head-on collisions will be available. Also in the new XC60 will be Pilot Assist, which manages the steering, acceleration, and braking while driving up to 80 mph on highways with clear markings.

That seems to be a long list. But we hope we have given you a good list to choose from.
