‘Let people judge Duterte legacy’ – Bong Go hints contents of PRRD’s final SONA
Senator Christopher “Bong” Go highlighted and praised the accomplishments of the Duterte Administration as he hinted on the possible content of President Rodrigo Duterte’s final State of the Nation address on July 26.
“Babanggitin niya po ‘yung mga priority measures… Of course, ‘yung accomplishments ng ating Pangulo for the last five years, ‘yung mga ipinangako niya noon na naisakatuparan na po,” said Go during the turnover of the national government’s additional financial support to the Southern Philippines Medical Center in Davao City on Sunday, July 18.
The ordinary Filipinos, Go reiterated, are the ones who can see and feel the improvements brought about by the Duterte Administration. As a result, it is only fair for them to decide whether or not the President has fulfilled his promise of bringing positive change to Filipinos’ lives.
“Let the people be the judge.
Let the people be the judge,” he added.
Go discussed some of the Duterte Administration’s milestones and successes that have strengthened the country’s efforts to provide a comfortable life for all Filipinos, particularly the government’s aggressive stance against criminality and illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, Go noted that next year’s budget will continue to focus on meeting the needs of Filipinos as the country overcomes and eventually recovers from the pandemic.
The Senator then emphasized that the government will continue to balance the health and economic interests of Filipinos.
Duterte’s “unfinished business” in terms of fighting illegal drugs and corruption during his six-year term as president, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, may influence his decision to run for vice president in the 2022 polls.
