Senator Christopher “Bong” Go on Thursday welcomed a possible Senate ethics committee investigation links him to Christopher Lao, former head of the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM), and other officials involved in transactions with Pharmally Pharmaceutical.

“I respect this institution that I belong to and I hope that fairness and due process will always be upheld in these halls. Kaya kung may mag-file man ng reklamo laban sa akin sa Committee on Ethics, rerespetuhin ko naman ang desisyon ng mga kapwa kong senador,” Go said in a statement.

Go reiterated there was still no ethics complaint, and that he had nothing to fear and hide.

“Malinis po ang aking konsensya, wala akong tinatago at wala akong kinakatakot dahil wala naman akong ginagawang masama,” he said.

Meanwhile, Senator Manny Pacquiao had said he would take action if a complaint against Go would be filed before the Senate ethics committee, which he chairs.

Go said he would step down if anyone could prove if he was involved in corruption.

“Kung mapatunayan nilang sangkot ako sa anumang korapsyon — ni piso, I will resign. At kung napatunayan nilang may ginawa akong mali, tatanggapin ko kung anuman ang nasa batas o Senate rules,” he said.

In his statement, Go claimed Duterte has a zero-tolerance policy against corruption.

“Basta’t napatunayang sangkot ka sa korapsyon, kahit sino ka man, kahit saan ka man nanggaling, dapat kang managot,” he said.
