Go on substitution: I’m very sure to run for VP

Senator Christopher Lawrence Go doused speculations that he was paving the way for the vice presidential candidacy of another individual through substitution for the 2022 elections.
In an interview Thursday afternoon, the lawmaker said he is well-decided to run for the country’s second-highest post in next year’s polls.
“As far as I am concerned, I am very sure to run for this position. So I accepted the challenge to run as VP candidate of the PDP-Laban,” he added.
Go said despite the overwhelming support, he will not be complacent about his chances in the polls.
The senator, who is gunning for a vice-presidential position in the 2022 polls, vowed to continue the projects and programs initiated by the Duterte Administration., pointing out the importance of the “Build, Build, Build” program.
“More Build, Build, Build projects and I will continue the current admin’s projects and programs which greatly helped the Filipinos,” he said.
Go said he was determined to continue President Rodrigo Duterte’s legacy, to assist the country in overcoming the pandemic, and to provide a better life for all Filipinos, particularly the most vulnerable, helpless, and hopeless segments of society.
Apart from that, he said the campaign against drugs and criminality will also be part of his focused agenda.
“Economic recovery is also very important. Those Filipinos who were affected by the pandemic, we will help them get back on their feet again. We will help our countrymen to be productive,” he added.
As the chair of the Senate Committee on Health, he also vowed to provide free health services, especially to the poor Filipinos.
“We will also look into providing free education where our goal is to provide at least one [college] graduate per family,” he added.
