Ford PH President gets a new assignment
We can’t have the good ones forever, and it seems we won’t have PK Umashankar of Ford for long now.
A Ford Motor Company announcement says “PK Umashankar (‘Uma’) has been appointed director, Ford Customer Service Division, International Markets Group (IMG), effective April 1.” He is getting promoted I would presume, with the larger scope of responsibility he will be undertaking soon.
The announcement went on to say “in this regional role, Umashankar will have overall responsibility for Ford’s customer service and after-sales initiatives across the diverse and geographically widespread markets that comprise the company’s IMG region. He will relocate to Bangkok, Thailand and report directly to Dianne Craig, president, International Markets Group.” This means Uma will still oversee the Philippines, but in a very scope and manner.
“Uma has been instrumental in leading our business in the Philippines amid a very challenging time. Under his leadership, customers’ choices in the Ford showroom expanded with the successful launches of the Everest Sport, F-150, and all-new Ford Territory in 2020. His hands-on approach also allowed customers to enjoy improved parts availability and enhanced ownership experience supported by our dealer partners,” said Yukontorn ‘Vickie’ Wisadkosin, president, Ford ASEAN.
We have not been informed who will take Uma’s place, but it would be nice if the next person (might be a lady you know) can have the same concern and compassion Uma had for the after sales service needs of Ford owners in the Philippines.
Good luck Uma. Cheers.
