Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon said it terminated the contractor agreement with the consortium task to build the Common Station of LRT1, MRT3, and MRT7 lines due to construction delay.

Dizon said it has issued a notice of termination against BF Corporation and Foresight Development and Surveying Company (BFC-FDSC) Consortium.

He stressed that the Common Station, aimed to link the LRT-1, MRT-3 and MRT-7 lines, could have already benefited commuters if not for the construction delay.

“Now that we have terminated the contract with BF Corp. and Foresight Development and Surveying Co, we can finally move on with the construction,” Dizon said.

The DOTr said the move follows the directive of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to speed up and complete the construction of the project, which has been ongoing since 2009, to ease and reduce travel time for commuters.

He expressed optimism that the Common Station project’s construction could restart immediately to fast track the process through the New Government Procurement Act or the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Code.
