The Department of Transportation (DOTr) offered a free ride to commuters at the Light Rail Transit Lines and Metro Rail Transit Line due to bad weather.

In an advisory, the DOTr said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the free rides to heavy rains, which resulted in cancellation of classes and government works in various parts of the country.

The free train rides started at 12:00 noon.

The DOTr stressed that the safety of passengers and ensuring an efficient and safe commute are its utmost priority.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 has been raised over 17 areas as Tropical Depression Isang is expected to traverse Northern Luzon.

The Natonal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Center (NDRRMC), has upgraded its alert status from white to blue due to the effects of tropical depression Isang. 

The NDRRMC said the raising of the alert status is to prepare for a slow onset disaster or in anticipation of a situation escalation.
