Classes, gov’t work suspended in parts of Luzon, Visayas on July 24, 2025

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced the suspension of classes at all levels and government work on Thursday, July 24, in parts of Luzon and Visayas due to inclement weather.

State weather bureau PAGASA said these areas will continue to experience heavy rains as tropical cyclones Dante and Emong enhance the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said the affected areas are the following:

  1. Mountain Province

 

  1. Nueva Ecija

 

  1. Quezon Province

 

  1. Oriental Mindoro

 

  1. Palawan

 

  1. Marinduque

 

  1. Sorsogon

 

  1. Romblon

 

  1. Masbate

 

  1. Albay

 

  1. Camarines Sur

 

  1. Catanduanes

 

  1. Antique

 

  1. Iloilo

 

  1. Pangasinan

 

  1. Benguet

 

  1. Tarlac

 

  1. Pampanga

 

  1. Bulacan

 

  1. Metro Manila

 

  1. Batangas

 

  1. Laguna

 

  1. Rizal

 

  1. Cavite

 

  1. Cagayan

 

  1. Ilocos Norte

 

  1. Ilocos Sur

“Suspension of work in government offices is in effect in the same areas, except for essential personnel such as responders and emergency services — you report for work when necessary,” Remulla said.

Amid reports of six drowning deaths, Remulla also urged people to avoid swimming in rivers and creeks at this time.
