DFA confirms second Filipino fatality in Myanmar quake

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported that a second Filipino died in the magnitude-7.7 earthquake that hit Myanmar.
In a statement, the Philippine Embassy in Yangon confirmed that the body of second Filipino reported missing in the powerful earthquake has been recovered.
DFA said the family of the victim has already been informed about the passing of their loved one. But out of respect information about the victim withheld upon the request of the family.
Last Wednesday, DFA confirmed the first Filipino fatality in the powerful Myanmar quake. He was identified as Francis Aragon.
Aragon was among the four OFWs who went missing after their condominium building collapsed due to the strong earthquake in Myanmar.
Francis is a 38-year-old Filipino working as a physical education teacher in Myanmar.
The DFA, meanwhile, said it continues to “hope for the best for the remaining two Filipinos still unaccounted for in Mandalay, Myanmar.”
