Dbm released midyear bonus of Gov’t employees starting today

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said government workers both civilian and military and uniformed personnel, will be receiving their midyear bonus starting Thursday, May 15, 2025.

In a statement, Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said the amount of the midyear bonus is equivalent to one month basic pay of entitled government workers as of May 15.

DBM said the government earmarked P63.695 billion for the grant of the 2025 midyear bonus of qualified civilian and military and uniformed personnel.

Of the said amount, P47.587 billion will be for civilian personnel, while P16.108 will be for military and uniformed personnel.

Pangandaman said the budgetary requirement for the midyear bonus has been comprehensively released to implementing agencies and local government units as early as January 2025.

DBM Budget Circular No. 2017-2 provides the rules and regulations on the grant of the mid-year bonus.

The circular states that the midyear bonus shall be given to personnel who have rendered at least a total or an aggregate of four months of service from July 1 of the immediately preceding year to May 15 of the current year.

The personnel shall also remain in government service as of May 15 of the current year and have obtained at least a satisfactory performance rating in the immediately preceding rating period, or the applicable performance appraisal period.

The circular also mandates that the grant of midyear bonus shall apply to all positions for civilian personnel, whether regular, casual, or contractual, appointive or elective, full-time or part-time, now existing or hereafter created in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches, the Constitutional Commissions and other Constitutional Offices, State Universities and Colleges, and Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations covered by the Compensation and Position Classification System, and in local government units.

Entitled personnel to receive the mid-year bonus also include military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines under the Department of National Defense and uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police, Philippine Public Safety College, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology of the Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine Coast Guard of the Department of Transportation, and National Mapping and Resource Information Authority of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
