Bato dela Rosa ready to join Duterte if all legal remedies are exhausted

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said he is ready to join former President Rodrigo Duterte, if the International Criminal Court issued a warrant against him regarding the killings under the Duterte administration’s war on drugs.
“If all legal remedies are exhausted and still justice is to no avail, then I don’t want my family to suffer from cops looking for a heartbeat. I am ready to join the old man hoping that they would allow me to take care of him,” Dela Rosa said.
Dela Rosa issued the statement after the Supreme Court did not immediately issued a temporary restraining order after he and Duterte filed a petition asking the court to prohibit government agencies from cooperating with the ICC.
Dela Rosa described himself as the number two accused in the ICC investigation into Duterte’s drug war, served as the chief of the Philippine National Police when the former president launched his campaign against illegal drugs.
In a statement, SC spokesperson Atty. Camille Ting said that the court found that they failed to establish a “clear and unmistakable right” for the immediate issuance of a TRO.
However, the SC clarified that the issuance of a TRO is “still a possibility.”
According to Ting, the SC directed the respondents to comment on the petition within a non-extendible period of 10 days from notice.
The petitioners also asked for a TRO to prohibit the government from coordinating and providing assistance to the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) or any foreign law agency regarding the execution of warrants.
