The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced Monday afternoon cancellation of classes and government work in some areas due to intensified habagat.

Acting Press Secretary Dave Gomez said the recommendation to cancel classes and government work in some areas was approved. 

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said the classes in all levels in the following areas are suspended on July 22: 

1. Metro Manila

2. Zambales

3. Bataan

4. Pampanga

5. Bulacan

6. Cavite

7. Batangas

8. Rizal

9. Pangasinan

10. Tarlac

11. Occidental Mindoro

Likewise, government work is also suspended in these areas except those providing essential services. 

For private companies, the suspension of work depends on the decision of the employers. 

“Para sa trabaho, nakadepende po ito sa desisyon ng mga kumpanya kung itutuloy o hindi ang pasok,” the DILG post stated. 

“Sa mga tanggapan ng gobyerno, pareho rin ang treatment—suspended ang work, pero ang mga ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES ay kailangang pumasok. Ang iba pang opisina ay bahala na po ang head o officer-in-charge kung magtutuloy ang trabaho o hindi,” it added.
