Barrios vs. Pacquiao fight ends in a majority draw

WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios and 46-year-old Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao 12-round world title fight ended in a majority draw on Saturday (Sunday in Manila) at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
One judge scored the fight for Barrios 115-113, while the other two had it 114-114 and 114-114, resulting in a majority draw.
Pacquiao showed flashes of brilliance in the opening round, showcasing his signature speed and flashy combinations. While Barrios leaned on his jab to keep the Filipino at bay, not rushing to engage the Filipino.
Barrios started to let his hands go in round two, going to the head and body, working behind his crisp jab. Pacquiao’s work rate reduced as the rounds went by, allowing Barrios to gain confidence as the fight went on.
Barrios found success landing his jab and going to the body halfway through the fight, catching Pacquiao’s attention several times. Pacquiao was still throwing in the championship rounds, showing he still has gas at 46.
Both fighters exchanged heavy leather in round 10. Pacquiao leaned on his speed and combinations while Barrios stuck to his jab and body punches.
Barrios pressed the action in round 11, catching Pacquiao on top. He fought with little urgency in the twelfth and final round, allowing the 46-year-old Pacquiao to cruise his way to the final bell.
