Vice President Sara Duterte will attend the Department of Justice’s initial investigation her alleged kill remark against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Duterte was summoned by the Office of the Prosecutor after the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed charged against her for allegedly threatened to kill the president.

“Nagkausap na kami ng aking abogado with regard to sa counter-affidavit, tinatapos na lang namin. Mag-appear ako dahil kailangan ko mag-oath,” Duterte told reporters in Cagayan de Oro City on Wednesday.

According to Prosecutor General Richard Fadullon, the preliminary investigation on the complaint has been scheduled for May 9 and May 16.

Last February, the NBI recommended the filing of inciting to sedition and grave threat against Duterte after she said that she ordered someone to kill Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez if an alleged plot against her succeeds.

But, the Vice President stood firm that her statement was “maliciously taken out of logical context,” saying that it was not a threat as she only highlighted the alleged threat to her security.

Duterte had also said she does not regret saying the kill remark against Marcos and members of his family, which later on became one of the grounds for her impeachment by the House of Representatives on February 5.
