Malacañang said Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru will undertake an official visit to the Philippines next week.

The visit is expected to exchange views about regional and global developments as well as explore new pathways towards peace and stability under the ‘Strengthened Strategic Partnership’ between Manila and Tokyo.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will welcome Prime Minister Ishiba and his spouse, Mrs. Ishiba Yoshiko, during official engagements at the Malacañang Palace.

The meeting between the two leaders on April 29 and 30 aims to deepen and improve economic and development cooperation, political and defense engagements, and people-to-people exchanges.

The exchange of high-level visits is considered as a main feature of Philippines-Japan relations.
