The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board or LTFRB has began giving assistance to the victims of the bus crash in Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro where two people died last Saturday afternoon, December 9 2017.

LTFRB Board Member Atty. Aileen Lizada said they have instructed the Passenger Accident Management Insurance or PAMI to assess the situation and provide the necessary assistance to those who died and were injured.

Lizada also said the tourist bus had proper credentials and were operating legally, adding it would seem that, for now, the crash was an accident.

Police reports say two people were confirmed dead after a bus ferrying student-athletes from the University of Rizal System fell into a ten-foot deep ravine in the area. They were on their way to attend the Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Colleges and Universities Olympics in San Jose, Mindoro Occidental.
