Department of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade today inspected one of the units that is being pushed as a replacement for the jeepneys.

The units, part of the Jeepney Modernization Project of the Duterte administration is seen to be the solution to the safety and emmission issue the current jeepneys are experiencing today.

The public transport units have Euro-5 compliant engines which follow the law on clean air, is PWD friendly which means those with physical disabilities can have a comfortable ride, and equipped with AFC’s, CCTV’s and WI-FI.

President Duterte wants the Jeepney and Public Transport Modernization program to start on January 1, 2018.
