Administration ally and Lanao Del Sur 1st District Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong describes the impending impeachment complaint against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. “very vague,” “shapeless” and “formless.”

Adiong said a colleague who disclosed to the media the alleged attempt to endorse an impeachment complaint against the president did not even go into the details of what among the specified offenses, impeachable offenses, will be used by this, will be used as one of the complaints by the complainant.

“So, it’s really hard,” Adiong said.

“We do not even know what actually prompted these possible groups or individuals to even file. We cannot even know kung ano yung puwede nilang i-attribute directly to the President that amounts to an impeachable offense,” he added.

Adiong did not name the fellow lawmaker, but it was House Senior Deputy Minority Leader and Caloocan City 2nd District Edgar Erice who had said that he was told the complaint is currently being “finalized” and that it is a “collective action of a pro-VP Sara group.”

“Filing is one thing, pero securing the support is another thing,” Adiong added, noting that it would be difficult to gather a sizable number for any impeachment case to move forward to the Senate.

Adiong meanwhile noted they have not discussed how the 20th Congress would proceed should there be any future impeachment complaint.

“If the MR is not granted, so the basic, and essentially, what would be the effect is that we would have no choice but to go through the modes. Even if you have more than one-third of the votes, you have to really pass through the Committee on Justice,” Adiong added.
