House Speaker Bojie Dy disclosed Friday that he seek the assistance of Department of Justice (DOJ) to cancel the passport of ex-lawmaker Zaldy Co.

Dy decision came after Co resign as Ako Bicol Party list Representative

to restrict his travel abroad and forced to return and face the controversial trillion peso flood control project investigation.

“Right after nung matanggap nga namin [ang resignation letter], tinawagan ko kaagad ang dating DOJ Secretary Remulla,” said Dy.

Dy admitted knowing that cancelling Co’s passport was not under the DOJ’s jurisdiction, but said that he sought their assistance because “it oversees the Bureau of Immigration and can help expedite the coordination process.”

Dy said Remulla had assured him that the DOJ would take the fastest possible course of action.

Dy believes the DOJ already asked the DFA to initiate the cancellation of Co’s passport.
