Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III said he will discuss with house leaders of and the House Committee on Ethics their next move in the event Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co refuse to return to the Philippines.

Dy disclosed that he had no information on Co’s whereabouts, but heard that his letter had reached Co.

“Wala pa sa ngayon [response] but siguro hintayin natin. Tutal, binigyan naman natin na siya ng 10 araw para malaman natin kung ano magiging kasagutan ni Congressman Zaldy,” Dy said.

“Siguro, pag-uusapan natin, pag-uusapan ng leadership, especially yung Chair ng Ethics, kung ano pa ‘yung mga pwedeng gawin para matiyak natin na makauwi si Congressman Zaldy Co,” he added.

Last September 4, then House Spokesperson Atty. Princess Abante said Co was in the United States for “medical treatment”.

Earlier, Dy revoked Co’s travel clearance and directed him to return to the Philippines within 10 days to address “pressing national matters requiring his physical presence”.

Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco had accused Co of inserting billions of pesos in the bicameral version of the proposed 2025 national budget. Co was also accused of involvement in the flood control mess.

But the Ako Bicol solon previously denied the accusations, which he called “baseless”, “irresponsible” and “unsubstantiated”.
