PNP chief Torre relieved from post -Malacanang

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin confirmed that Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Nicolas Torre III was relieved from his post.
Bersamin said memo dated August 25,2025 was issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and made effective immediately.
No further details were provided on the reason for Torre’s relieve order.
Torre III barely 3 months since he took replacing former PNP chief Gen. Rommel Marbil retired from service in June.
Torre was the PNP’s 31st PNP chief and the 4th to head of the agency under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Torre’s supposed retirement is on March 11, 2027.
