The Social Weather Stations (SWSE) latest survey shows that 47% respondents believe that their quality of life will improve in the next 12 months,

SWS said nearly half of Filipinos aged 18 years old and above were “optimists” as they believe their life will improve in the coming months.

Meanwhile, 37% said it will stay the same and 5% or the “pessimists” said their quality of life will worsen in the next 12 months.

However, 11% of the respondents did not give an answer, the SWS said.

The SWS latest survey conducted last June 25 to 29 showed that net personal optimism score is “excellent” +41, a point higher than the net personal optimism score of “excellent” +40 last April.

The non-commissioned survey interviewed 1,200 adults face-to-face:  300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon (or Luzon outside Metro Manila), the Visayas, and Mindanao.

The sampling error margins are ±3% for national percentages and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

An earlier survey revealed that 35% said their quality of life improved (gainers), 23% said it got worse (losers), and 42% claimed it remained the same (unchanged).

The SWS noted that the net personal optimism was higher among “gainers” (excellent +56) and “unchanged” (excellent +42) than among “losers” (fair +18).
