45% of registered voters oppose Sara Duterte impeachment -Pulse Asia

A Pulse Asia survey shows that 45% of Philippine registered voters oppose the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.
Pulse Asia Research Director Ana Tabunda said the non-commissioned poll, conducted from February 20 to 26, found that only 26% of respondents supported impeachment, while 23% were undecided. Seven percent had no opinion due to insufficient knowledge.
The survey involved 2,400 registered voters chosen through random sampling and conducted via face-to-face interviews. The survey had a margin of error of ±2.
Question asked on the respondents were: “Do you agree or disagree with the filing of the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte by the House of Representatives in the Senate?”
Regional breakdown
In the Visayas, 46% opposed impeachment, while 26% supported it.
In Mindanao, opposition was significantly higher at 88%, with only 4% in favor.
Metro Manila had the highest percentage of supporters, with 45% agreeing and 33% disagreeing.
In the rest of Luzon, 34% supported impeachment, while 24% opposed it.
Meanwhile, opposition to impeachment was evident across all socio-economic classes:
Class ABC: 48% opposed, 32% agreed
Class D: 43% opposed, 26% agreed
Class E: 56% opposed, 15% agreed
Senate fairness
The survey also found mixed opinions on the Senate’s impartiality in handling the impeachment case:
35% believed the Senate would not be fair
33% were undecided
21% believed the Senate would be fair
Regionally, 66% of Mindanao respondents believed the Senate would not be fair. In Metro Manila, 40% trusted the Senate’s fairness, while 40% in Luzon remained undecided.
Among socio-economic classes:
Class ABC: 38% doubted fairness, 17% believed in fairness, and 37% were undecided
Class D: 35% doubted fairness, 22% believed in fairness, and 32% were undecided
Class E: 33% doubted fairness, 12% believed in fairness, and 42% were undecided
