Motor Image, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles across nine countries in Asia, has launched the All-New Subaru Impreza at the Singapore Motorshow 2017.

The fifth-generation All-New Impreza is the first Subaru model that employs the new Subaru Global Platform, which will be the architecture for all future Subaru models. It has recently been honoured with the much-coveted title of 2016-2017 Japan Car of the Year.

Drivers of the All-New Impreza are empowered with confidence as a result of the combination of Subaru’s Boxer Engine, All-Wheel Drive and safety features like the Subaru Rear/Side Vehicle Detection (SRVD) and Steering Responsive Headlights; these are all underpinned by the new Subaru Global Platform. This unique combination ensures that drivers of the All-New Impreza enjoys an elevated driving experience, with significantly less vibration and noise and precise control over the vehicle at all times.

“The All-New Subaru Impreza features the new Subaru Global Platform that is engineered to make a new type of driving possible. With a host of improvements to its interior, styling, handling performance and an improved CVT transmission, the new Impreza is set to be the first to pave the way for the next generation of Subaru vehicles to deliver a superior driving experience like no other,” said Mr Glenn Tan, Executive Director, Tan Chong International Ltd.

The All-New Impreza further enhances its functionalities while fully incorporating the company’s DYNAMIC x SOLID design philosophy which will greatly enhance the interior and exterior finish, taking Subaru’s aesthetic designs to a whole new level.

Seen in a wide and low stance, the All-New Impreza features extended fender flares, hexagonal grille and iconic Subaru C-Shaped headlights. Its interior design combines sporty and sophisticated elements, from the detailed stitching on the instrument panels to the 8.0-inch touch-screen display for the infotainment system. In addition to the enhanced interior design, signature Subaru functionalities have been further strengthened including the excellent all-round visibility, spacious cabin and cargo room.

Subaru Impreza Core Technology

Subaru takes upmost pride in safety and its safety performance has continuously been highly rated by independent third-party organisations such as NCAP and IIHS. The All-New Subaru Impreza has surpassed expectations to achieve an even higher level of active and passive safety with the new Subaru Global Platform.

In addition to major improvements in the structural rigidity and suspension system, the new platform achieves a centre of gravity that is 5mm lower than present models. The lower centre of gravity offers outstanding hazard avoidance through sharper, more responsive steering which enhances the vehicle’s active safety capabilities.

Passive safety in the Impreza has also been improved as a result of the new Subaru Global Platform’s frame structure, with enhanced body strength resulting from an increased use of high-tensile steel. This enables improved energy absorption in the event of collision by 40 per cent over present models.

Steering Responsive Headlights are fitted on the All-New Impreza which will allow the headlight beam to move according to the direction of how the car is steered, maximising dusk visibility and safety.

The All-New Impreza 2.0i-S (4-Door) is available for reservation at Subaru Showrooms across the Philippines. It will be launched locally at the Manila International Auto Show on March 30.
